Codes of Conducts - The Brigade Youth Program Brockton

Welcome to the Brigade Youth Program! Our main goal here is to make sure everyone feels loved and respected in our community, including students, parents, and leaders. The object of the Brigade Youth Program is the advancement of Christ’s kingdom among Boys and Girls, and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect, and all behaviors that reflect true Christian values.

To make this happen, we have some guidelines and a code of conduct that we all follow. These guidelines help us create a safe and caring environment where children can grow and thrive. By having these guidelines in place, we hope to foster an atmosphere where kids can feel loved and safe while they learn and grow.

Be punctual:

Show respect for each other's time by arriving early or on time for meetings and activities. If you're running late, it's responsible to call and inform the staff or leader. Parents should drop off and pick up on time. Starting and ending on time shows discipline and a commitment to being an active participant in the Brigade program.

Drop-off and Pick-up Policy

We kindly ask parents to drop off their children at least 15 minutes before the program starts, specifically at 11:45 am. It's also important for parents to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the end of the program for pick-up. We prioritize safety, so please understand that children cannot be released to the parking lot. Parents need to come inside the building to pick up their children. If you intend to have someone else pick up your children, please inform us beforehand. It's worth noting that being late for pick-up may result in additional charges.

Cell phone and electronics devices

To make sure our Brigade Youth program is fun and interesting, we have some rules about using cell phones. These rules are here to help us have meaningful and distraction-free time together. We want everyone to connect with each other without being interrupted. So, we ask that you don't use your cell phones during our activities and get-togethers. Instead, let's participate, talk face-to-face, and enjoy the moment together. You can only use your cell phone during breaks or when the teacher or leaders say it's okay. Parents cannot call their children during the program. Please call the office and we will pass on the message.

Online or Zoom Meeting.

When you attend an online Zoom meeting, make sure to use your device wisely and do what the teacher asks you to do. This means keeping your videos on, not sharing your screen unless the teacher says you can, being polite and not disrupting the class, and doing what the host(s) say to do.

Be on your best behavior.

As a member of the Brigade program,  it's important for everyone, including students, parents, and leaders, to help each other behave properly. Let us demonstrate humility and reverence in all situations. Let's uphold these values and set a positive example for others. Reverence is one of our values

Required
Speak up if needed.

If you ever see a student, leader, or adult behaving inappropriately, don't hesitate to talk to them or find another adult you trust. Your safety and well-being is important to us, so please report any bullying or abuse.
*
Required

Respect our leaders and staff.

Our staff and volunteers are caring adults who work hard to create a loving environment for children to be seen, heard, and known. Show appreciation by honoring and respecting their presence. When leaders are speaking, listen attentively and avoid talking back or walking away.

*
Required

Spread love and kindness.

Remember Jesus' command to love one another. Let's follow that! Treat everyone with love and kindness. Your positive attitude can have a great impact on the people around you, especially those younger than you. Upholding these values reflects true Christian behaviors.

*
Required

Respect yourself and everyone.

Show respect to all people you meet, regardless of their age, race, gender, or status. Making fun of others or discriminating against them based on their differences is not acceptable. Remember, we are a community with diverse backgrounds and beliefs.

*
Required

Take care of our surroundings.

Whether we are at church, a public place, or anywhere else, let's respect the facilities. Don't throw or kick balls at doors or walls, avoid writing on things that shouldn't be written on, and don't stand, walk, or run on church furniture or chairs. Always clean up after yourself too!

*
Required
Keep Physical Boundaries.

To ensure safety and well-being, there are physical boundaries during meetings and events. Stay within these boundaries and remain seated during classes, discussions, and presentations to avoid disrupting the group.
*
Required

Attend all meetings.

Your commitment to the Brigade program includes attending each meeting. If you cannot make it, please let an adult volunteer or staff member know in advance. Knowing who will be there is important for planning.

Be helpful and Clean Up.

Being helpful and cleaning up are really important when you're part of a brigade. It means we should always try to clean up any extra food and trash. Let's make sure the classrooms are even more beautiful and tidy than before we used them

*
Required

Meals and Drinks.

Remember to be thoughtful when it comes to meals and drinks. Try not to throw away any food or drinks unnecessarily. It's best to only take what you can eat or drink completely, so there's no waste. Also, it's important to be patient and wait for others to have enough before asking for more.

Dress appropriately:

Our goal is to be holy and pleasing to God. We want to make God happy and show respect to different cultures. That means we shouldn't judge others based on their clothes. To help with this, we have special outfits called Brigade uniforms. It's your job to keep your uniform clean and wear it for most Brigade activities. We should avoid wearing clothes that show our tummies, see-through clothes, tube tops, halters, or clothes with mean or rude pictures or words. No hoodies allowed.

Consequences for violation of policies:
We come together to support each other in becoming better people and learning about love, spirituality, and discipline. To make the most of our time together and stay focused on these important things, we need to avoid disruptive behavior. The rules we have in place are meant to help each of us become a better person. If someone behaves disruptively in class, there will be consequences that will increase gradually.

First Offense
