2022 West Texas Elementary Summer Academy RSVP (July 18 - 21 & July 25 - 28)
Should your child have scored in the “Did Not Meet Grade Level” category on any of his/her 2022 STAAR assessments, he/she is required to participate in the WTE Summer Academy during the weeks of July 18 - 21 & July 25 - 28, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day.

Participation in this summer session is required in order for your child to complete, or begin to work towards the completion of, his/her 30 hours of supplemental accelerated instruction for each STAAR-tested subject for which he/she did not meet grade-level standards. This instruction will be targeted to each student's areas of deficiency and will help to reinforce testing strategies to increase student achievement in the future. Additionally, this is an excellent opportunity for your child to sharpen his/her skills and get a head start as we get ready to kick off the 2022-23 school year.

*Please note that participation in the summer academy is required for your child per state compulsory attendance laws. If your child will not be able to attend one or more days of summer school, you must contact Mrs. Lamb by July 14th to make alternative arrangements for the completion of your child's required supplemental instruction. She can be reached by email, shawna.lamb@region16.net, or by phone, 806-878-2103.

Ratio For Tutoring
There are certain parts of House Bill 4545 that require a decision by parents. The tutoring required for students under House Bill 4545 states that students are to be in a group of no more than three students per one tutor. Below, Plemons-Stinnett-Phillips is asking you to provide permission for your student to receive tutoring in a group that is larger than three students if needed. We are asking this permission because we believe we can effectively meet your child’s needs in a larger group. We expect that groups can be reasonably kept to six students at the largest, but most often less. You can choose to provide this permission, or not to provide it, and you can provide this permission only for some subjects and not for others. Your decision will not affect whether your child receives tutoring.

Ratio For Tutoring Decision (Please choose the statement that reflects your decision.) *
If you are only consenting to a larger-than-3:1 tutoring ratio for one of two subjects for which he/she must receive tutoring, please list the subject below.  (*ONLY REQUIRED IF YOU SELECTED THE 3RD RESPONSE ON THE PREVIOUS QUESTION.)
