Should your child have scored in the “Did Not Meet Grade Level” category on any of his/her 2022 STAAR assessments, he/she is required to participate in the WTE Summer Academy during the weeks of July 18 - 21 & July 25 - 28, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day.
Participation in this summer session is required in order for your child to complete, or begin to work towards the completion of, his/her 30 hours of supplemental accelerated instruction for each STAAR-tested subject for which he/she did not meet grade-level standards. This instruction will be targeted to each student's areas of deficiency and will help to reinforce testing strategies to increase student achievement in the future. Additionally, this is an excellent opportunity for your child to sharpen his/her skills and get a head start as we get ready to kick off the 2022-23 school year.
*Please note that participation in the summer academy is required for your child per state compulsory attendance laws. If your child will not be able to attend one or more days of summer school, you must contact Mrs. Lamb by July 14th to make alternative arrangements for the completion of your child's required supplemental instruction. She can be reached by email,
shawna.lamb@region16.net, or by phone, 806-878-2103.
