SUBMISSION DEADLINE: MONDAY APRIL 10th at Noon ET
Thank you for submitting your work for consideration in the upcoming Broadway Shark Tank. This event is a unique opportunity for writing teams to put their original musical to a panel of industry experts. This evening aims to provide an opportunity for exciting new works to be discovered and eventually make an important impact to a future Broadway season. The “Broadway Shark Tank” presentation will take place at Open Jar Studios, 1601 Broadway, 11th Floor on Friday April 14th at 7pm.
Submitting to participate in Broadway Shark Tank is free and open to all writing teams who have completed at least a first draft of their original musical (whether it be in its “concept” phase, or has had a full production). To be considered for Broadway Shark Tank, writing teams should compile the following in a dropbox (or similar) folder:
- Synopsis
- Demo recordings
- Script (or excerpt)
- Plus anything else you want to share

NOTE THAT THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE HAS BEEN MOVED BACK TO MONDAY. The submission deadline is now Monday April 10th at 12 noon, and teams will be notified by Tuesday April 11th. If you area ready to submit before Monday, please do. It will give us more opportunity to consider your work.
If selected, each show’s team will be allowed a total of up to 8 minutes to speak in front of the panel (and the audience in attendance). Your 8 minutes should consist of you talking about the project and presenting 1-2 songs (performed live with a piano - no recorded tracks please). After your pitch, the panel will likely ask questions to the writing team.
Audience members will not be allowed to have their phones out and will not be allowed to record the pitch or the performance.
Each writing team is responsible for covering any costs associated with presenting their work (stipend to their actors, pianist, etc.),
