WHAT:
Foundations of Leadership (FOL) is a dynamic Advanced Learning course focused on the experiences of LGBTQIA+ youth and youth of color. This opportunity is a partnership between MMSD and GSAFE (Creating Just Schools for LGBTQ+ Youth). FOL helps students to develop their capacity for leadership and to empowers them to become active partners in racial justice, LGBTQIA+, and intersectional social justice movements. More info here:

-Students will meet on Mondays from 3:15-4:45pm
-We are hoping we will be able to meet in person at the UW-Madison campus. Transportation will be provided from school to the student's home. Safety will be prioritized!
-Students receive .25 credits per semester for their participation in the course.

We are accepting nominations for next year's course on a rolling basis this Spring, and will be contacting students before the end of the school year to gauge interest and commitment.
HOW:
Students can nominate themselves or be nominated by a youth peer, parent/family member, or school staff. Please complete this brief form to nominate! We recommend that you meet with your nominated student(s) in person to let them know about this opportunity and why you nominated them!
