There is a long standing public debate about video games and its social implications. Some people believe that games could have negative effects, especially if they are violent. Others believe that video games provide a safe virtual space for people to realize their fantasies. To shed some light on this debate, we would appreciate if you can share your thoughts and feelings about playing in actual scenes in publicly available video games.
The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to fill in, and your responses remain confidential. We do not collect identifying information such as your name, email or IP address. Anonymity is guaranteed and the data you provide is stored in a protected digital format and will be used only for the purpose of academic research.
This survey is aimed at adults aged 18 and above and it contains questions about scenarios of graphic violence, sexual molestation, rape, and murder in video games. If you are uncomfortable with answering questions of this nature or are under 18 years of age you can note that below without continuing with the survey. If at any point during the survey you become uncomfortable and wish to stop your participation, please do so.
