Title: Session 3 CR-SE Framework: Inclusive Curriculum and Assessment
The CR-SE framework helps educators create student-centered learning environments that: affirm racial, linguistic and cultural identities; prepare students for rigor and independent learning, develop students’ abilities to connect across lines of difference; elevate historically marginalized voices; and empower students as agents of social change. The framework is grounded in the following four principles: Welcoming and Affirming Environment; High Expectations; Rigorous Instruction; Inclusive Curriculum; and Assessment and Ongoing Professional Learning. During each session participants will engage in various scenarios, with the goal of developing authentic and reflective practice around one’s own potential biases, sustaining a growth mindset, and building school capacity for continuous professional growth.
