WCSS Teacher of the Year Requirements
Do you know an outstanding social studies educator? The Wisconsin Council for the Social Studies recognizes three distinguished teachers (elementary, middle and high school) at the annual WCSS Conference each March. Please consider nominating an outstanding colleague by completing a simple online form available in mid-October on the WCSS website.
Each nominee will be contacted and encouraged to complete the WCSS Distinguished Teacher of the Year Application form. Nominees will not be considered without completing all sections of the application which include: 1-3 letters of support provided by colleagues, administrators, parents, and/or students; a resume; and a personal belief statement.
Nominees must:

• be a full-time teacher teaching K-12 social studies
• be recognized by colleagues as an excellent social studies teacher
•utilize social studies strategies that foster inquiry and the development of social studies
•have an ongoing interest in improving his/her knowledge and skills in social studies instruction

Completed applications must be received by January 30, 2020.  Electronic submissions (preferred method) should send all portions to rhwatton@gmail.com.
