School Council Parent Member Election
Center School, as required by law, has a school council composed of staff members, parents, and a member of the community, if one is available. There should be an equal number of parents and staff members, not including administrators.  If there are more interested candidates than openings the PTO holds an election so parents can choose their representatives. The council works with school administrators to adopt educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards, identify the educational needs of students attending the school, review the annual school building budget, and formulate a school improvement plan.

We are fortunate to have two interested parents. Please read their biographies below and select one to serve on the council. Council members typically serve a three year term.

Carrie Conway
My name is Carrie Conway. I have two daughters, one is a first grader at Center and my youngest will be in kindergarten next school year. I am a first grade teacher in Westford. I have served as a Teacher Member of SAC at my school for a number of years. I have also served as a Community Member on the SAC at Center School in 2016 and 2017.

I hope to join SAC at Center this year as a Parent Member. I believe the role of a Parent Member is to listen to other caregivers and bring forth issues and successes that are for the greater good of our community.  I hope to be able to offer suggestions for problems and celebrate the successes of our great school. Thanks!

Erica Redner-Light
I have two children at Center School: kindergarten and 4th grade. I have 2 masters degrees: Special Education and Reading. I have been a Special Educator in  MA for over 16 years, and I am a licensed reading specialist with a background in Orton and Gillingham as well as Wilson.  I am passionate about reading and writing instruction and would love to lend my expertise as a means of giving back to a school which has given so much to my children.
