Artist Talk with Mary Jeys and Exchange Rate Exhibition Tour

Join exhibiting artist Mary Jeys and GAC curator Dennis Nance for a lunchtime artist talk and tour of the exhibition Exchange Rate. Exchange Rate features 14 artists who incorporate currency in their work as material and subject matter. Mary Jeys is a multi-media artist, activist, and educator who founded a local currency for north Brooklyn, NY called The Brooklyn Torch. A local currency is a method of trading goods and services meant to supplement other means of trade while improving the community wealth. Visitors are invited to hear Jeys speak about her currency collection and learn more about the exhibition.
