Why:Â Come meet other Woodseys, get outside, and enjoy a nice evening hike under the moonlight!
Moderate hike to a vista in the park (~4 to 5 miles round trip, ~1100 ft elevation gain); bring your own goodies to enjoy. Meet by 6:45 pm in the Upper Merry-Go-Round parking lot (see map). Meet at 6:45 p.m to sign waiver forms; hike begins at 7pm and lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours. (Waiver form is separate from that used for the regular evening hikes.)Â
Bring water, a light jacket in case it gets cold, and a snack or food item for yourself. Sturdy hiking shoes or boots strongly encouraged. Flashlights are optional; a colored filter is recommended to avoid blinding other participants. No beginners or tigers, please. (Tigers are fast hikers who would not be satisfied with a moderate pace.) Leashed well-mannered dogs welcome. This is a front country outing.
