Active duty servicemembers and military spouses and children are at increased risk for eating disorders, up to triple the rate of civilians. The Eating Disorders Coalition and REDC Consortium are partnering with Military Service Organizations across the country to gather stories of eating disorders among military families, including TRICARE denials and other barriers to accessing eating disorders care, especially for dependents (military spouses and children).
If you or a family member has experienced an eating disorder related to military family experience and/or lack of access to eating disorders treatment, please feel free to share below. These stories will be used in advocacy for better TRICARE coverage and Department of Defense recognition for the impact of eating disorders on military families.
