Co-Chair
Co-chair responsibilities include attending the bimonthly chair meetings, planning out the podcast production schedule for the Middle School section, orchestrating recording sessions, facilitating the book discussions, and handling episode editing responsibilities. Any of these tasks could be shared or delegated as needed, but the chair should be the one to organize the overall workflow.

Discussion Group Member
Being a discussion group member is the second-most involved position after co-chair. It would include reading all the nominated titles for the Middle School section, proposing discussion questions, and taking part in all recording sessions. One of our goals this year is to have the same members in each episode, so please do not volunteer to be a discussion group member unless you can reasonably commit to these responsibilities.

Substitute Discussion Group Member
Exactly what it sounds like--plan on reading all the nominated titles for a particular age group, and if a regular discussion group member is unavailable for a recording session, you would be asked to fill in. This is a great option for those who want to take part in the discussion group, but are not prepared to commit to all recording sessions.

Author Interviews
This would include emailing authors/publishing companies to gauge interest, setting up Zoom interviews, reading the associated title, writing interview questions, and recording the interviews. Ideally, we would have two people working on each interview. The interview videos are intended to be bonus content that will be published on the podcast YouTube channel. A great option for anyone with interest in journalism or publishing!

Promotion/Marketing
This would include drafting news announcements, social media posts, and flyers. A great option for someone with graphic design skills!

Read-alike Research
One feature of the podcast episodes is to provide a list of books that are similar to the nominees being discussed--perhaps the same author or illustrator, similar themes or plot points, similar kinds of characters, etc. We'd like to have 3-5 read-alikes for each title. This is a great option for anyone who loves reader advisory!
