Eligibility: The Donald H. Makela Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established at Michigan Tech to recognize a full-time undergraduate student with first preference in awarding to a student who is a graduate of Hancock Central High School in Hancock, Michigan.
Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for admission in any undergraduate degree program at Michigan Tech. A minimum grade point average of 3.00 is required for scholarship consideration and must be maintained during each term of enrollment for renewal eligibility.
Financial need is a consideration but not a determining factor. Provided the student maintains a GPA of 3.0, a recipient of the scholarship may receive this award in subsequent years but must reapply each year and be selected by the Scholarship Committee.
Value: One $1,000 award each year
