The La Mesa Yearbook program is open to both seventh and eighth grade students (this is the application for next year’s seventh graders only). If you are chosen, Yearbook would be your elective class. A limited number of students will be selected from a competitive application process.

Application must be complete by Thursday, May 21st.

1. All members must uphold the high standards of La Mesa Yearbook and represent the school with dignity, pride, and integrity. Yearbook students are given a great deal of responsibility, and are both leaders and role models. I understand that any student not maintaining high personal, academic, and behavioral standards both on and off campus may forfeit his/her position.

2. I understand that my job description may include attending and taking photos at events such as Summer Check-In, the first day of school, Back-to-School Night, athletic events, school dances, awards ceremonies, brunch and lunch activities, and other school functions that require time beyond the classroom.

3. I understand that sometimes Yearbook activities on campus may occasionally cause me to miss all or part of another class, and that I am responsible for all the work missed during that time. I also understand that some activities require working before school, at brunch, at lunch, or outside of the school day.

4. I understand that Yearbook may occasionally take me out of class time for all or part of a class period. I understand that Yearbook may also take up my time in the evenings or on weekends, which is why it is so critically important that I place my academics and homework as a high priority. For this reason, I understand that I currently must hold (according to most recent report card), and I agree to maintain, at least a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) with NO D’s or F’s throughout the school year. I understand that failure to maintain a 2.0 GPA could disqualify me from the Yearbook class.

Computer Experience – Describe your previous experience working with computers. Describe the software applications you have used (examples: Microsoft word, Adobe Photoshop, Excel, etc.) as well as the type of work you have created using these applications. *

Deadlines – A large part of Yearbook is the ability to meet deadlines. Please explain the steps you take in your own life to stay organized and keep deadlines. *
