Monthly Foster & Adopt Parent Training | Special Edition | July 28
Upstate foster and adoptive families are invited to join us for a special training in July.  This training will be in-person and adhere to social distancing guidelines, including masks (bring with you if possible).  Unfortunately, we are not able to provide childcare for this training.  Arrive a little early and please park in back to enter with safety precautions in place.  Volunteers will be on-hand to direct you.

July 28 | RAISING CHILDREN OF COLOR | The Crucial Conversation
6:30pm-8:30pm

There are both hard and beautiful parts of parenting within transracial families!  Many foster and adoptive parents are ready to receive a child into their home with open arms. But what happens next? When the child you receive is a different ethnicity than you are, there are many things to learn. We want to help bridge that learning gap for parents through this training. Join Brenda and Toney Parks, as they share stories, answer questions, and pass along practical advice for transracial families.

Dr. Toney Parks has served for more than 25 years as Pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and as a community leader in Greenville County.   Brenda has nearly 40 years in Child Welfare Services, having served most of those years working with families adopting from Foster Care at SCDSS Region I Adoption. She currently serves as the Director of Foster Care for Miracle Hill Ministries.

Register through July 27 (9pm) or until we reach maximum social-distancing capacity for the meeting space.
