Smith's Farm Market and Garden Center's Job Application

We are currently looking for a seasonal full time ice cream team member, seasonal part time ice cream team members, and part time garden center sales clerks for the 2024 season. Please fill out the application below. Saturday and Sunday availability is a must in April and May, and October.

 These are all seasonal positions that would run from March through July and September through November. Summer and winter time is a slow time on the farm, and we will not be able to offer many hours at that time.The responsibilities and duties of these positions include the following:

  • Maintaining the garden center area, including watering plants, weeding and general plant maintenance.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of garden center, bathrooms, and greenhouse.
  • Assisting customers with plant and produce transactions.
  • Loading and unloading truck deliveries.
  • Maintaining and stocking of retail area.
  • Prepare and serve ice cream.
  • Must be able to be trained in proper food handling techniques.
  • Following proper opening and closing procedures, including cleaning at the end of the night.
  • Wipe down counters and tables with the proper sanitation procedures throughout the day 
  • Keep inventory stocked

We ask that applicants be able to lift 30 lbs. and tolerate various weather conditions.  Applicants should also enjoy working outdoors and interacting with customers, and young children. Our hours will slow down during certain times of the year, even within the listed timeframe.  Experience with plants and/or retail work is not required, but would be highly beneficial.
