Intern Host Family Application 2022-23
Hello!

First, we’d like to say a sincere thank you from TCGIS teachers, staff, students and our entire community of families for considering opening up your home — and your lives — to host an intern. Hosting an intern is a generous and rewarding experience that we hope each member of your family enjoys. Your own family will be enlivened and challenged, your child(ren)'s horizons forever expanded.

The real work of an Intern’s experience is to learn about teaching and enriching students within TCGIS. Outside of school, generous host families have the chance to help an Intern flourish and develop a life away from their home, to soak up a new city and a new culture.

The following questionnaire will help you begin to consider some of the logistics of welcoming an Intern into your home. The information you provide will also help school staff suggest the best match possible. Matches must consider many factors: host family preference for male/female intern; allergies; smoking/alcohol and diet restrictions; Intern comfort level with driving; distance from school and public transportation options; plus other details from intern interviews and host family home visits.

In the very fortunate event that we have more potential host families than interns, placement preference will be given to first-time host families. It takes serious deliberation for families to decide to host an intern and some families are only able to host one time during their time at TCGIS. After first matches are made small lotteries will take place between appropriate family/intern matches.

Please discuss these questions thoughtfully as a family and submit the form as soon as possible.
