Enrollment at Ridge and Valley Charter School is open, on a space-available basis, to all K-8 students residing in New Jersey, with preference given first to siblings of current students, and second to applicants who reside in the districts of Blairstown, Hardwick, Knowlton, Frelinghuysen, and North Warren Regional school district. The initial application period for the 2025-2026 school year is October 1 through October 31, 2024. If more applications are received than there are spaces available, a lottery will be held on November 21, 2024 at the RVCS public Trustee Meeting. Applicants will be notified of enrollment status by the end of November, via phone and email as available, and will have four (4) days to accept or decline the offer and complete the registration form.

*Offers to attend RVCS that are neither accepted nor declined will expire and that space will be made available to the next student on the waiting list.
*Students who apply after October 31 will be either offered enrollment or placed on a waiting list as their applications are received. 
*Applicants on the waiting list will remain on the waiting list until a space opens in the applicable grade. 
*New applications must be submitted each year until a child is accepted for enrollment. 
*Once a student has been accepted, the student remains enrolled for all subsequent school years. 
*Anyone submitting an application will be informed of in-person Open Houses and online Information Sessions occurring throughout the year. 
*Please note that tours are guaranteed during Open Houses only.  
*Once a child is accepted, proof of birth and residency will be required for enrollment.

Charter schools are free, open-enrollment public schools that are required by law to serve all students. Charter schools are open to all students on a space available basis and do not discriminate in their admission policies or practices on the basis of intellectual or athletic ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, special needs, proficiency in the English language, or any other basis that would be illegal if used by a school district.
