As a reminder, please review the following requirements:
1. Professional Placements MUST be located in the province of Ontario and, to the extent possible, conducted in-person unless otherwise authorized by the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, and/or due to public health advisories.
2. Professional Placements MUST be full-time (minimum 35 hours/week) and 15-weeks in length.
3. An eligible supervising lawyer: MUST have 3 full years of practice in the province of Ontario, must be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) and cannot supervise more than 2 lawyer licensing candidates simultaneously (e.g. Law Student (Professional Placement), Articling Student, LPP Candidate).
Hiring Periods: To hire a Fall 2024 or Winter 2025 student, please participate in one of the following rounds. Students are hired on a rolling basis.
- Employers Submit a Job Posting Request by April 8, 2024; Student Application Period from April 8-14, 2024; Employers receive Student Applicant Packages from the CDPPO by email on April 15, 2024; Extend Offer by April 29, 2024.
- Employers Submit a Job Posting Request by April 15, 2024; Student Application Period from April 15-21, 2024; Employers receive Student Applicant Packages from the CDPPO by email on April 22, 2024; Extend Offer by May 6, 2024.
- Employers Submit a Job Posting Request by April 22, 2024; Student Application Period from April 22-28, 2024; Employers receive Student Applicant Packages from the CDPPO by email on April 29, 2024; Extend Offer by May 13, 2024.
- Employers Submit a Job Posting Request by April 29, 2024; Student Application Period from April 29 - May 5, 2024; Employers receive Student Applicant Packages from the CDPPO by email on May 6, 2024; Extend Offer by May 21, 2024.
- Employers Submit a Job Posting Request by May 6, 2024. Student Application Period from May 6-12, 2024; Employers receive Student Applicant Packages from the CDPPO by email on May 13, 2024; Extend Offer by May 27, 2024.
- Employers Submit a Job Posting Request by May 13, 2024. Student Application Period from May 13-20, 2024; Employers receive Student Applicant Packages from the CDPPO by email on May 21, 2024; Extend Offer by June 4, 2024.
- Employers Submit a Job Posting Request by May 21, 2024. Student Application Period from May 21-28 2024; Employers receive Student Applicant Packages from the CDPPO by email on May 29, 2024; Extend Offer by June 12, 2024
Professional Placement Dates:- Fall 2024 Professional Placement Dates: September 3, 2024 - December 13, 2024
- Winter 2025 Professional Placement Dates: January 13, 2025 - April 25, 2025
