Are you ready for a full block of Collegiate Shag? Perfect! It's going to be fun!
In this level of Collegiate Shag, we will focus on polishing and styling the basics of this crazy and energetic dance. You will master different kinds of footwork and quickly grow comfortable dancing to very high tempos. We will play with breaks and accents and you’ll learn how to hit them in your dancing, by adding a lot of fun and cool moves.

This is NOT a beginner level. To sign up for this level, you need to be comfortable with the basic Shag rhythm in open, closed and side-by-side position and can easily keep up with a 200bpm tempo. You understand basic swing concepts like tension, compression and stretch and can apply these to improve your movement. Ideally, you will have had various different footwork variations, including double kicks and heel-toes, you are familiair with basic moves as Change Places, Tuck Turn and Outside Turn, but also moves like Harvey Wallbangers and Oompa Loompas.

Shag is a high energy dance, so we will also train with tempos well over 200bpm. You WILL get sweaty. Please bring a towel and/or a fan, maybe an extra shirt.

This block will have ten classes, on Thursday night: May 9 until July 18 (no class on May 30).
19:30-20:30 Shag level 1+ - Oompa Loompa
20:45-21:45 Shag level 2 - Do-Si-Do
This course costs €100,- (€10,- per class). If you take an additional course in the same block, you will get a 50% discount  (Lindy Hop on Monday or Tuesday). After signing up, you will receive an email with payment details. Please give this a couple of days, as we handle all registrations by hand.

Classes take place at The Rockschool, Fruitweg 60 in Leiden. We are in classroom 14. If you walk through the hallway, you will find the main area, with a stage. On the left side of that stage, is a white door with a red 14 on it.
