Dear Parents and Carers

All Junior parents and carers are invited to attend an interactive Reading Workshop. This will take place on Wednesday 18th of March at the Junior School.

The purpose of this workshop is to demonstrate how reading is taught at the Junior School, including the expectations for different year groups, along an example of the level of questioning taught and comprehension style questions.

The workshop will run according to the following schedule:

9:00- 9:20 - Explanation of reading in school, the structure of guided reading and the reading provision for children in KS2. Examples of the questioning structure of comprehension.

An example of a guided reading session, modelled with the help of children and an example text.

9:20-9:40 - An opportunity to read with your child in their class, putting into practise the skills from the workshop.
