Rensselaer Faculty Workshop: Tips for Planning Your Condensed Course
Planning Your Condensed Course is meant to assist instructors teaching in The Arch or short semester courses in planning and presenting their course material in innovative, effective, and carefully considered ways. In this workshop we will discuss best practices in condensing coursework, give you tips and assistance in interactive methodologies like flipping your classroom and active learning, and offer ideas on how to adjust your course syllabus.
**Prior to the workshop, instructors will experience a flipped classroom environment, reading articles and participating in an online discussion about condensed courses.
Participation Requirements
• Instructors must submit a 15 week course syllabus for condensing
• Instructors must participate in pre-workshop activities
Maureen Fodera (Office of Undergraduate Education) will present this workshop.
This workshop will be held on Monday, March 16th from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm in the Beta Classroom located on the first floor of the Library.
Please bring a laptop or mobile device.
Note: Food or drinks are not allowed in the Beta Classroom.
