Eerie Imaginings
St. Joe County Public Library's spooky short story writing contest is back!

Young authors (grades 3-12) are welcome to submit a terrifying tale (1-5 pages) to delight and fright readers of all ages. Please submit your story below!

Winners from each age group (grades 3-5, 6-8, 9-12) will receive a $50 Target gift card. Two runner-ups from each age group will receive a $25 Target gift card.

Please note that stories should not be excessively violent or graphic, should be appropriate for all ages, and should be the student's own original work. While fanfiction is wonderful, we will not be accepting it for this contest.

Submissions will be accepted until October 6th, 2023. Any story submitted later than October 6th will not be eligible for consideration. Winners will be announced at our Eerie Imaginings Ceremony on Wednesday, October 25th at 6pm in the Story House at Main Library.

Questions about the contest may be sent to Haylee Lau, Youth Programming Specialist, at h.lau@sjcpl.org.
