We are putting together Welcoming Refugees/Renting to Refugees (R2R) “Support Teams” to welcome refugee families to Falls Church.

Are you interested in organizing or leading a team, working with friends, your church, temple, or mosque, or another organization, or in joining an established team?

In addition, if you are not interested in joining a Support Team to work with a single family, there are still many, many ways to get involved - one-time or focusing on specific issues - to help many families over time. If you have a particular area of interest or expertise, please let us know below!

This form asks how you would like to potentially get involved. You're not making a specific commitment by filling out the form below--but this will enable us to work with Support Team leaders and co-leaders to bring together teams of people with complementary interests and abilities to commit time. Welcoming Falls Church and/or Support Team leaders or co-leaders will be in touch to explain roles further and confirm (and also to communicate about the timing when families will arrive)--and this will be very helpful for planning purposes.

Also, for those that want to be involved but do not want to make a longer-term commitment to join a Support Team, note your interest in this form in specific issues and/or roles working with multiple families? This is a more flexible, one-time approach to serving that will be appropriate for some people, especially those with uncertain schedules--you can still get involved.

Welcoming Falls Church and our resettlement agency partners will also provide information and required training for members of Support Teams. If you ultimately choose to join a Support Team, you will be background checked, and you will need to complete online and in-person child protection training.
