PFTP Board of Directors - Treasurer
Thank you for your interest in joining the Portland Fruit Tree Project’s Board of Directors! We are currently only seeking applicants who may be able to fill the role of Treasurer on our Board. If this is not a role you would feel confident filling, this is not the best time to apply for Board Membership.
PFTP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to increase equitable access to healthful food and strengthen communities by empowering neighbors to share in the harvest and care of urban fruit trees.
A group of strong community leaders on the PFTP Board who are willing to volunteer their time, ideas, and networks is essential to sustaining the organization. Board members are responsible for governing the organization as well as coordinating day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities include fundraising, strategic planning, financial oversight, organizational development, and community relations.
Additional expectations, and clarification regarding the position:
- This is a volunteer position.
- The Board meets once per month and all members are expected to attend. Board meetings are currently held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 6:00–8:00 pm. It may be possible to change the day or time if necessary to accommodate incoming members’ schedules.
- Board members are also expected to attend monthly Sub-Committee Meetings.
- In addition to monthly meetings, members spend time planning and coordinating various aspects of the organization.
- Board members are expected to provide financial support to the organization, in whatever amount is comfortable.
- Board term is two years.
