We would like to invite you to a Community Engagement Session on K-12 Library Processes hosted by the Board of Education on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Middle School/High School. Signage will be posted to direct community members to the correct location on the day of the session.
Participants in the session will work together in randomly selected groups to discuss the utilization and monitoring of our library spaces, as well as parental oversight of their children’s book selections. Each group will assign a chairperson/spokesperson, a timekeeper, and a notetaker to ensure the session is productive, efficient, fair, and that everyone's time is respected.
The session will be run by a moderator from outside of the District, and the agenda for the evening will be as follows:
6:30pm - 6:40pm Introduction
6:40pm - 6:45pm Separate into Random Groups
6:45pm - 7:15pm Discussion on Topic #1: Utilization and Monitoring of our Library Spaces
7:15pm - 7:45pm Discussion on Topic #2: Parental Oversight of their Children’s Book Selections
7:45pm - 8:00pm Topic #1: Brief Share-out from each Group Spokesperson
8:00pm - 8:15pm Topic #2: Brief Share-out from each Group Spokesperson
8:15pm - 8:30pm Closing
The District seeks actionable thoughts and ideas from community members as we consider adjustments to the library processes for the 2023-24 school year. Members of the Board of Education, as well as the administration, will be in attendance to listen and engage with participants. The timeline for next steps regarding library processes will be shared at the session as well.
