Title: Using Online Simulations to Enable Deliberate Practice with Complex Decisions to Build Skills and Well-Being

Date:  November 1, 2021

Ken Spero, CEO, SchoolSims, AthenaK12 Speaker

Description: "The principal's job (is) both the most important in a school building and the loneliest, and the stress it places on individuals is illustrated by its rapid turnover rates." (EdWeek). With the current myriad of challenges facing our schools and school leaders, it is easy to see how this statement applies to individuals at all levels in our schools. SchoolSims are an engaging and collaborative learning tool that build resilience & decision-making capacity so educators can be better equipped for the uncertainty and ambiguity they face on the job. By providing an opportunity for deliberate practice with making decisions, and through experiencing the consequences in a safe space, Simulations help build confidence in educators as they handle evolving situations and maintain positive school environments.
