The Local Authors and Illustrators Showcase is an event that features and celebrates local authors and illustrators! Innisfil ideaLAB & Library will invite local authors and illustrators to share their works through short talks or readings. The event will be open to the public and community members will be encouraged to attend. Local authors and illustrators will also receive their own booth at the event, providing many opportunities to engage and network with visitors. Do not miss out on this unique and rewarding opportunity!

Please note: The 2019 Local Authors and Illustrators Showcase will be held on Saturday, November 16th from 1:00pm- 4:00pm at the Lakeshore Branch.

To be considered for participation in the Local Authors and Illustrators Showcase, please complete a 2019 Event Submission Form online. Along with the completed form, submit one copy of your work as a donation to Innisfil ideaLAB & Library. This submitted copy will be reviewed for informational purposes only. Innisfil ideaLAB & Library will NOT be considering titles for inclusion in the collection.

Local authors and illustrators who have been selected to participate in the showcase will receive a formal invitation from the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library by email. Those who are not selected will also receive an email that confirms this.

 To be eligible for consideration to participate in the Local Authors and Illustrators Showcase event, the author or illustrator must currently reside in Simcoe County.
 The local author or illustrator’s title must have been published between 2013 and 2019.
 The title can be either an adult, young adult, or children’s book.
 The title can be fiction or nonfiction.
 The title must be in print or eBook format.
 The content of the title should not violate Canadian legislation. Invitation to participate in the showcase event does not indicate endorsement of the title’s content by Innisfil ideaLAB & Library.
 By completing an event submission form, the local author or illustrator is submitting for consideration to participate in the Local Authors and Illustrators Showcase event.
 The submission form is for participation in the event only. Innisfil ideaLAB & Library will NOT be considering titles for inclusion in the collection.
 Innisfil ideaLAB & Library has no responsibility for promoting a local author or illustrator’s work.
