SitStayRead Family Literacy Event Interest Form 2023-24
SitStayRead is committed to providing high quality, fun, and effective literacy programs to children in Chicago.

Programs offer many benefits to participants, including guided reading practice with trained volunteers; opportunity to develop empathy for dogs and people; social interaction with adults; one-on-one attention; small group activities; and a personal connection with dogs which can provide increased motivation and engagement.

SitStayRead partners with schools and community-based organizations in Chicago where the student population is at least 75% low-income, and 60% of third graders score below the national average in reading. These criteria confirm that we are providing critical reading and writing help to those who are most in need.

Due to SitStayRead's small size, we can only partner with schools and organizations in the city of Chicago. Additionally, we kindly ask for a minimum of four-weeks to fully staff an event.
