Place, Language, and Innovation: Empowering Young Scholars for Success
The Diné Studies Conference, Inc. Board of Directors proudly announces our conference in partnership with San Juan College. This year's theme--Nihikéyah, Nihizaad, Nihi’éé’deetįįh: Niha’áłchíní yee át’ée doo--recognizes Diné people's connection to place, language, and the innovation necessary to strengthen Diné knowledge into the future.
We will accept proposals focusing on issues related to the theme in all subject areas. Proposals for sessions delivered in Diné bizaad or focused on intergenerational learning are highly recommended! We encourage Diné people, our allies, youth, adults, elders, students, community members, cultural knowledge holders, medicine people, educators, professionals, government officials, artists, activists, and others to submit proposals.
All presentations will be video recorded. All sessions are 90 minutes. Individual proposals will be grouped into a panel with a similar subject or topic area.
All submissions are due by January 10, 2020. Notification of acceptance will be January 17, 2020.
NOTE: All accepted presenters are required to pre-register, including the fee, in order to confirm their position at the conference.
