Wellspring Year-Long Internship
We are happy to hear that you're interested in our year-long internship! The internship runs in-between Missouri Western State University's academic calendar. Year-long interns will commit to working 10 hours a week serving in a specific ministry area of Wellspring. We are looking for interns with particular skills and passions to fit the unique roles that we need filled.  **The deadline for this application is August 13th.**

INTERNSHIP DATES:
Fall 2023----September 5th - November 28th (12 weeks)
Spring 2024----January 23rd - April 16th (12 weeks)

*Interns are sometimes asked if they'd like to continue the internship through holiday break (December & January). This is something you can discuss with your supervisor if that interests you or not!

REQUIREMENTS:
*Must be a follower of Jesus that calls Wellspring your home church
*Must have completed the Wellspring Summer Internship OR must have attended Wellspring for over one year and served in some volunteer capacity. However, completion of the Summer Internship is strongly preferred.
*Must participate in an informal internship interview with some of the Wellspring staff

MINISTRY AREA OPTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
**Children's Ministry** - work alongside Brittney Robertson and Blayr Kennedy in our children's ministry (serving on Sunday mornings where needed, spending time with kids and families, clean and prepare children's ministry rooms, help prepare kids lessons, etc.)

**Youth Ministry** - work alongside Kenny Atkins and/or Kenzie Miller in our High School & Middle School Ministry (serving at youth meetings, spend time with students outside of scheduled gatherings, help prepare and teach Bible studies, assist in cleaning after gatherings, etc.)

**College Ministry** - work alongside Kenzie Thom in Young Life College Ministry to the students of MWSU (needs to be a student at MWSU, help plan events, spend time with college students outside of scheduled gatherings, help prepare and teach Bible studies, assist in cleaning after gatherings, etc.)

In addition to the specific work each intern will be assigned, they will also commit to meeting once a month on Friday mornings with Justin Amos, while also having a mentor assigned to them throughout the internship.

**Interns are expected to discuss with their supervisors if they need to take an additional part-time job during the year-long internship. Open communication will ensure that our interns are able to stay fully committed to the Wellspring year-long internship.

**Female year-long interns that decide to live in the Cornerstone house during the year-long internship will NOT be required to volunteer 5 hours a week to live there as non year-long intern residents are required to do. Working as a year-long intern counts for your expected hours :-)

FINANCES:
Interns will be paid for 7 hours a week of their 10 hour weekly commitment. So 3 hours a week will be volunteered by the interns. Pay is $12.30 an hour. Students have the option of getting college credit for the internship if applicable to their degree. Interns receiving college credit for doing the internship will NOT be paid by the church. *Interns will be required to fill out a monthly timesheet for their hours worked.

CODE OF CONDUCT
To ensure a reputable, sustainable, and healthy ministry example, all Wellspring interns (summer and year-long) will be held to a high standard. The following guidelines are a list of the expectations that we have of interns that represent Wellspring Community Church. Please know that children, teenagers, and parents are watching you. They are examining the way you live both in person and through your social media presence. We want to ensure our interns are setting an example to them that is worth following. For that reason, we ask you to follow these guidelines:

1. No questionable social media posts of any kind (questionable posts would include photos of you drinking alcohol or smoking, photos of you showing off your body that is clearly a grab for attention, political posts that cause controversy or division, discriminatory posts of any kind, etc.)

2. Follow biblical guidelines if you choose to drink alcohol (e.g., no drinking unless over 21, no drinking in the presence of minors, getting drunk is sinful and unacceptable, social drinking is strongly discouraged as people do not know if you’ve had one drink or ten drinks, no photos on social media around alcohol, etc.) If you’re trying to find a workaround to some of the examples listed above, you’re probably crossing a line. Essentially, ask yourself, “is what I’m about to do going to help others grow in Christ?” If the answer is no, then don’t do it.

3. No drug use of any kind unless prescribed by your doctor

Failure to follow any of the above guidelines could result in being removed as an intern.
Do you agree to follow and adhere to the code of conduct guidelines listed above?
