Winter Hockey Registration Years 5/6
Welcome to the 2022 Term 2 and 3 Winter Hockey season. We are currently taking registration for school teams. The Hockey fees are $35.00 Fees will need to be paid in advance before playing. Students will not be able to play until payment has been made or sorted through the school office.

Students will need to purchase their own Ashhurst School sports shirt through Academy Apparel prior to the season commencing. The cost of a sports shirt is $31.50. This can be used for all sports teams. Children are required to also wear navy blue sports shorts/skort.

Games are played on a SUNDAY on the HMI Twin Turfs. (By the Esplanade) or on the Massey Turf.
Year 5/6 play 7 a side.

The first round of competition begins Sunday May 15. There is no game on Sunday the September 20. They will have their final game on Sunday, August 28. There are no games on Queens Birthday weekend (3-5 June). There are games in the first weekend of the Term 2 holidays.
Hockey Manawatu will aim to provide umpire but teams will need to have someone to do this if required.

School registrations will close Friday, April 8.

Hockey Manawatu requires all players to be registered via the Sporty platform. This must be done by parents or caregivers and not the school. Once teams are organised we will share the link for you to do this. Hockey Manawatu will not allow unregistered players to take the field.

If you can coach I will be in contact shortly to organise training days and times. With Winter hockey you don't need to have much knowledge of hockey as it's about enjoyment. The Managers role consists of rotating players on and off the field.
