NHS Test and Trace: COVID 19 testing for Students
Dear Parent/Carer
You may be aware that testing those without coronavirus symptoms in schools has been introduced in schools, using 'lateral flow devices'. We are offering this testing to all students who are currently on site during this lockdown period, ie children of Key Workers, vulnerable and students with an EHCP etc. This will be offered to all students when they return to school.
The test is voluntary, but the DfE are encouraging everyone to consent to being tested.
Those taking the test will be supervised by trained staff and volunteers. The 'lateral flow tests' are quick and easy to undertake, using a swab of the nose and throat. Results will take around half an hour from testing and results will be shared with parents/carers via the NHS Test and Trace service.
If your child should receive a positive result the parent/carer will be contacted by the school to collect their child, who will be required to self-isolate for 10 days.
