Breaking the Ice Ceiling Webinar Series Presenter Form

In recent years, women researchers, scientists, knowledge holders, and local champions have elevated their visibility and empowered their voices across the world. The polar regions are no exception. In 2021, a coalition of organizations including The Arctic Institute, Women in Polar Sciences, and Women of the Arctic will organize a webinar series, Breaking the Ice Ceiling, that aims to:

(1) To illuminate polar research and achievements (past and present) by those who identify as women and those who were designated female but self-identify differently across all races and ethnicities to uncover lesser-known stories of women in polar science, historical and contemporary;

(2) To foster discussion on systemic change in polar sciences (Indigenous, natural, and social sciences) to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion;

(3) To weave connections and collaborations between many roles in a social change ecosystem in order to develop tools and methods to reach new audiences and inspire the next generation of women polar knowledge holders, researchers, and scientists; and

(4) To create a space that values and incorporates Indigenous women’s oral histories and traditional knowledge as a fundamental component of scientific research.

Please fill out the form below if you would like to present in this webinar series and the organizers will reach out and follow up on coordination.

What dates work best for you?
Please upload to the Dropbox link below one or more images of yourself, your work, you at work, or any other photograph that you have rights to use that you think would be useful for creating social media and website announcements for your webinar. I will be using this to create assets for you and your organizations to share (with you final approval and edits!).
Who else should we invite to present in this series that we should reach out to?
Is there anything else that I am missing?
