Application Form - BASIC ONLINE RESEARCH INTEGRITY COURSE AT FMRP-USP
Dear researchers and students,

The basic course on research integrity has the general objective of making you understand that the exercise of scientific research involves moral and ethical issues that, if not correctly addressed, generate violations of good research practices, to the detriment of the individual, research groups , institutions and society in general.

In this context, you will have access to content aimed at developing and/or consolidating awareness and application of current rules and regulations and ethical principles in the performance of all activities related to scientific research. You should understand what research misconduct is, understood as fabrication, falsification or plagiarism when proposing, carrying out or reviewing research, and/or reporting research results, as well as being able to act with integrity.

Throughout this course, you will be able to attend recorded classes covering in a summarized and objective way the main topics related to research integrity, such as the different aspects of research misconduct, project planning and execution, data control and preservation, authorship, collaboration in research, conflict of interest, intellectual property, as well as ethical aspects of research with animals and humans. PDF files dealing with these topics are also available, with emphasis on the Guide to Good Scientific Practices of the Dean of Research at USP, which should be known to all who carry out research at USP.

After watching all the videos and accessing the other available content, you must carry out an assessment covering the different topics of this course and will receive a certificate of completion of the course if you obtain a grade equal to or greater than 7.0. You will have a maximum number of 3 attempts to complete the test, if you do not obtain the minimum grade of 7.0.

The certificate will be valid for 4 years, after which you will have to participate in other courses made available by the Committee on Scientific Integrity and Good Research Practices at FMRP-USP (CIC-FMRP-USP) for certification of updating in the subject in question.

By the end of this course, you should be able to carry out responsible research conduct, carrying out scientific investigation with integrity.

At the end of the form, you will see instructions on the next screen. For more information, questions or suggestions, please send an email to cic@fmrp.usp.br.
