Here's what we ask of you if you agree to adopt a pet from us:

If the animal has not been spayed or neutered, the owner agrees to have this procedure done when it reaches three pounds. PFR will cover the cost of the spay/neuter if the owner has the procedure done at Rochester Community Animal Clinic within 30 days of adoption. A PFR representative will help you set up an appointment at RCAC.
You will agree to do the following:
--Have the animal spayed or neutered when it reaches three pounds, if not already done
--Keep the animal up to date with necessary vaccinations
--Meet the animal's physical and medical needs for the rest of its natural life
--Provide the animal with attention, affection, exercise and stimulation
--Keep the cat indoors
--Not have cats declawed
--Transfer microchip registration, if applicable

* This Old Cathouse is the animal rescue arm of Pets for Refugees, Inc.
This Old Cathouse (our foster group) is a kitten rescue organization based in Rochester, NY. We take in kittens--including those that require bottle feeding--that would otherwise be euthanized at overcrowded shelters. We also run a non-profit that matches our rescued pets with refugee families and subsidizes their care. We rely on donations, and we hope you can help us by spreading the word about our work.
