Application for 2023 ASC/BVGH Global Health Ambassador Position
BIO Ventures for Global Health (BVGH), is a nonprofit focused on improving cancer patient outcomes in Africa. Since 2017, BVGH has worked with African ministries of health and cancer hospitals to (1) establish sustainable access to oncology medicines and technologies, (2) strengthen healthcare infrastructure, (3) build clinical oncology capacity, (4) address the cancer data gap in Africa through clinical trials, and (5) increase awareness of cancer in Africa.

As part of BVGH's work to build clinical oncology capacity they run a virtual mentorship program on Workplace focused on diagnostic pathology. The platform is intended to foster real-time knowledge-exchange around the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer and cancer patients. Members are encouraged to post cancer pathology cases and foster discussion around the case in ways that could help build members’ knowledge.

The American Society of Cytopathology (ASC) in partnership with BVGH is seeking representatives to serve as ambassadors and liaisons between our organizations, and foster international knowledge-exchange around cytopathology. These individuals will get the opportunity to engage with BVGH's broad network of pathologists across the African continent.

The 2023 ASC/BVGH Global Health Ambassador Team will represent the ASC as the primary liaison to providing educational resources to our African pathologist colleagues on the BVGH platform during the 2023 calendar year.

ASC/BVGH Global Health Ambassador Responsibilities:
•Coordinate weekly content for the BVGH virtual mentorship platform
•Identify and communicate ASC opportunities to our international network
•Promote knowledge exchange around the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer and cancer patients utilizing the Virtual Mentorship Platform (VMP)
•Identify and connect BVGH with experts to help lead and co-develop digital training programs
