Discovering Vernal Pools with the Family

Location: Bonnyvale Environnmental Education Center, Brattleboro VT  

Bring the whole family to a kid-centered wetland exploration! Join Women and Our Woods VT (WOW-VT) for an exciting adventure discovering the vital miniature ecosystem of vernal pools. In this workshop, you and your family will have a chance to explore the famous transitory pools that are critical habitats to countless organisms–from amphibian eggs to insect larvae to fungal communities. Our leaders will guide us on how to care for these important places and teach us interesting facts about them.

WOW-VT is a collaborative women-centered community that shares information and offers support for people who take care of Vermont’s forests. Steering committee members include professionals from Vermont Coverts, Vermont Woodlands Association, Vermont Land Trust, Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife, Audubon Vermont, and Vermont Department of Forests Parks and Recreation.
