We are very excited about the amazing year ahead for the LGBT Center of Raleigh's Youth/Young Adult Leadership Team. The team membership is a full year commitment from beginning of July 2024 to the end of June 2025, where you will need to meet on a regular basis in person or by video call. To qualify as a member of the youth team you must be 15 -18 years old and in high school or the equivalent in North Carolina. To qualify as a member of the young adult team you must be between the ages of 18-21 and no longer enrolled in high school. No prior leadership experience is required. All applicants will be reviewed by a committee of the current youth leadership team and our adult leadership team. Please contact Gwendolyn Love (she/they) with questions at
glove@lgbtcenterofraleigh.com before the APPLICATION DEADLINE: June 7, 2024. The team will have training sessions to get to know each other, select teams, and set goals for the year. Join us for this great opportunity to help make some great programs with other LGBTQ youth and Young Adults.
**Note, this is the full commitment option for assisting our programs. We will have occasional shorter term opportunities to help.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS TEAM:
- Keep updated with internal messenger Slack team (24 hr response or reaction)
- Email follow-up with-in 72 hours of receipt
- Attend meetings (once a month trainings) and events of your team or provide reasoning that you will not be able to attend in advance (work/school/family obligation)
- Complete assigned work/commitments on time
-Comply with rules, expectations, and guidelines outlined in Youth/Young Adult leadership team contract.
