Welcome High School Senior!

Thank you for your interest in the Eta Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated 2022 Scholarship.  Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is composed of predominately African American college educated women dedicated to service to the community with emphasis to nationally stated issues which affect the Black community.  For over 50 years, Eta Gamma Omega has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships, and we are proud to continue our program to offer annual scholarships to high school seniors.

Our chapter is currently accepting High School Scholarship applications from high school seniors with permanent residences in the Greater Sacramento, CA area, and who will be attending college during Fall 2022.
 
The completed scholarship application, with all PDF attachments emailed, must be received no later than TUESDAY, March 15, 2022  at 11:59 p.m.  

APPLICATION REQUIREMENT:
     *Student’s permanent home must be in the Greater Sacramento area (Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo Counties).

APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:  

     Step 1: Submit the online application.
     Step 2: Email the ATTACHMENTS which are to be compiled, scanned, and
                       emailed as ONE PDF FILE to the Scholarship Chairman at
                       akahgoscholarships@gmail.com by 11:59 p.m. on TUESDAY, March 15, 2022.
     Step3: Write In the subject line, "NAME- AKA HS Scholarship Submission"
                      (e.g. Sarah Jones – HS Scholarship Submission).  

REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS:
1) Recent color photo headshot  
2) Official transcript showing most recent cumulative grades
3)    A letter written and SIGNED by the applicant stating/expressing:  
               -- Qualifications and character traits for future success
               -- College and career goals and aspirations        
               -- Impact of your community service
               --How the HGO Scholarship will benefit your college and career goals,
               -- Your knowledge of the impact of African American influence on today’s society, and particularly on
                 your life
              -- Your understanding of the global impact of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® on today’s
                 America
               -- Any other information you would like the Committee to know about you as we consider your
               application for a scholarship award.
4)   Two (2) letters of recommendation, DATED and SIGNED by the authors:
               --one letter from SCHOOL personnel and
               --one from an individual in the COMMUNITY
5)  1040 Federal Tax Return, 2020 or 2021 (first 2 pages only showing income and dependents) from
               parent/guardian (Black out social security numbers before sending.)
