Who are we?
Ruby's De Luxe is a burlesque group made up of solo burlesque performers who perform all over the nation and are taught and managed by Ruby 'D' Woo.
What are the perks of being a Ruby's De Luxe member?
Lots of things!
1. You get the opportunity to perform at residential shows.
2. You don't have to do any group choreography, techs, insurances, contracts, general admin, it is all sorted for you.
3. You get to be part of a supportive group who also encourages individuality.
4. You get support from Ruby 'D' Woo in your troupe journey.
5. You will also get extra solo opportunities while performing part of Ruby's De Luxe.
6. You have your very own Vau-DeLuxe-Ville Show.
7. You get to dance with like minded people and have top bants weekly.
8. Your weekly classes are to help you as a soloist and not just a group member.
9. Discount on selective classes and workshops.
We don't produce lots of group acts within a time frame, we focus on one act at a time and it is ready when it is ready. Quality over quantity.
Outside (private, commerical, industry) solo bookings are always paid.
Troupe travel outside of Nottinghamshire is paid. We do not want you to pay to perform as a troupe. Additional fees get split between the group or donated to charity. (this will always be discussed)
Showcases are not paid.
What is required from you to be part of Ruby's De Luxe?
- To attend weekly classes held at Top Valley, NG5 9DD. These classes consist of a 60 min group classes and payment is due every 4 weeks. We also do not expect you to have 100% attendance, we know you have got a life outside of burlesque. We only ask if you can just let us know if you aren't going to be able to make class. If there are less than 4hrs in a block the price will be reduced.
- To have some availibility on Saturdays as this is when most show bookings are. There is enough members so you don't need to feel pressured to saying yes.
- You need to have a polished solo act. Here at the Haus of Ruby's Rebels and Ruby's De Luxe we put you first and we want you to be as successful as a soloist just as well as the group. If being a soloist is not something you desire, then you can just be a troupe member.
- You need to be willing to make the group costume, these will be suitable for all shapes and sizes. We always make sure everyone is comfortable wearing the costume. We only make 1-2 costumes a year.
- You need to be a team player and love to giggle. We support one another as much as we can and every class consists of laughter!
