Sharpsburg Urgent Needs Assessment
Given recent recommendations by the Center for Disease Control, the Pennsylvania State Dept. of Health, and the Allegheny County Health Dept. to prevent the spread of the highly contagious COVID-19 virus, Sharpsburg Neighborhood Organization and Roots of Faith would like to understand the concerns facing Sharpsburgers over the next 4-8 weeks to ensure that our community is looking out for the needs of our residents and doing what we can to safely connect resources available to people in need. Current recommendations on limiting the spread of the virus include:
- Staying home when feeling sick or experiencing a fever.
- Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or using the inside of your elbow.
- Washing hands often and using hand sanitizer if handwashing is not an option.
- Limiting close contact (within 6 feet or in large crowds in confined areas) with others, especially seniors and people with vulnerable immune systems, as much as possible.
