Unlike testing, the yarn for store samples is supplied by Beehive. The sample making process is designed to produce a finished example of the project that will be returned to the shop. Sample makers are asked to communicate any issues they may encounter within the pattern instructions.
Our ideal Sample Maker is:
-Detail-oriented and proficient in their craft
-Experienced with finishing techniques (blocking, seaming, grafting, invisible weaving in of tails)
-Able to learn new techniques independently, if necessary
-A great communicator, comfortable with staying in touch
-Able to manage their time wisely and adhere to deadlines
For completed samples, knitters will be paid $0.15/metre or $0.18/metre in store credit. Crocheters will be paid $0.12/metre or $0.15/metre in store credit (due to the fact that crochet takes approx. 30% more yarn than knitting). Sample makers are also eligible for VIP Honey Point status and will earn 3 points per dollar spent on all purchases with Beehive.
Deadlines
Sample makers and testers will be required to complete their project according to a deadline that will be communicated at the onset of the project. If you do not feel like you can complete the project within the time frame, please do not sign up.
