Wildland fire Job Application 2025

Those selected for this job will be supporting Wildland Firefighting in a company provided vehicle. The base of operation will be in Lyman, Wy and then you will respond in a company vehicle to fire base camps primarily in the Rocky Mountain regions (some may be farther away).  This job does not involve actively fighting fires on the front line, but rather support operations in the background. However, you will be out and about the fire and the fire base camps driving pickup trucks and doing various light duty and rewarding support activities. This job pays while on assignment only.  Depending on experience pay will start around $205.00 a day which equates to $2,870.00 if you get a full two-week shift.  The number of days you will work depends on how busy the fire season is and your availability to go to work when the fire calls come in. You must be drug free, at least 18 yrs old, have a valid driver's license, be able to safely lift 45 lbs., speak fluent English, be friendly, capable of driving safely on mountain and back country roads as well as cities, change a tire, be away from home for up to two weeks at a time (for full time) part time schedules are more flexible but will rate you lower on the priority list, and you must be able to sleep in a (private)tent. Prior scheduled time off is not a problem.  We love retirees so please don't think you are too old to apply. If you can meet the requirements listed above and you are interested in a fun and fulfilling job in the beautiful mountains of the west please inquire. Full and part time with less days required away from home are both available.
