Would some rules for the classroom help the children in the picture to be more loving in their actions? *
1 point
The children in this picture are not acting in a loving way towards one another. Do you remember in our last lesson when someone asked Jesus "Who am I supposed to love?" Jesus' answer was to tell the story of the Good Samaritan. That story told us that we are to show love to everyone. While it may not be easy to love everyone it is what our Lord is asking us to do. We know that because long ago Jesus appeared to Moses and gave him a list of God's rules which are called the "Ten Commandments." Let's read more about that.
1. Turn to page 2 in your Together in Jesus Lesson 2 handout. See if you can get anyone in your family to help you read some of the parts in the story "Slaves Become God's Own People". If not it is fine for you to read it on your own.

2. Once you are done reading this story please answer the questions below.

The Ten Commandments - there is a link in Lesson 2 Part 1 to a sheet listing the Ten Commandments with a brief description of what we can do today to make sure we are obeying God's rules. Print out the "Ten Commandments" sheet and look it over carefully before going on to the next activity listed below.
The Ten Commandments Fill in the Blank - once you have reviewed the Ten Commandments see how well you can do on the Ten Commandments Fill-In-The-Blank sheet that is linked to this lesson. Try it first without looking at your Ten Commandments sheet and then check your answers against the Ten Commandments answer sheet also linked to this lesson. If you need help don't hesitate to look at your Ten Commandments sheet for a hint. When you are done send an image of your completed work back to me! Good luck!

Great job on completing this lesson!! The Commandments are a gift from God. They show us today how to be human according to God's purpose. People who keep these laws recognize that God loves them and wants them to respond in love to others. The commandments create a community of people who share one another's values and expectations.
