We invite all families - in-school and RLE - and staff at Braeburn to help us determine what our community needs are around equity and inclusion. Your responses to the survey will remain completely CONFIDENTIAL and ANONYMOUS, allowing us to only focus on the data. The purpose of this survey is to help us plan for the school year. We appreciate your engagement and honesty, and your time.

What is Braeburn's EDI Committee?
Braeburn's EDI committee is a parent-led group that seeks to provide a safe space to discuss and learn about topics around equity, diversity, and inclusion. We support the school and staff in its efforts to reach its goal of cultural competency. In partnership with the PTB and the school, we strive to make our school community a more inclusive and welcoming space. The committee also collaborates with other West Hartford Parent Community EDI groups on town-wide EDI related events and initiatives.

Which of the following would you be interested in participating in or organizing? (You may choose more than one.) *

A webinar focused on talking about difficult topics with children (for example, race/racism, gender identity, neurodiversity and learning differences, etc.)

A parent training virtual workshop on advocacy in education

A book club focused on topics around equity, race and inclusion (example: White Fragility, How to be Anti-Racist, etc.)

Small group meetings to view and discuss video clips around race and equity (i.e. includes watching TedTalks, EmbraceRace webinars, etc.)

Becoming part of EDI committee to discuss possible initiatives or events at Braeburn (bimonthly virtual meetings)

A presentation about special education at Braeburn
