Team Sign Up for Kennett Middle School 2022 2023 Winter Sports
 Hello KMS Students & Families!

The start of the 2022-2023 KMS Winter sports season is just over a month away! The following sports are offered to all KMS students during the Winter sports season: Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Coed Nordic skiing and Coed Alpine skiing.    

Girls & Boys Basketball:   Preseason Conditioning & Evaluations will be held on the following days:   

Girls will be in the gym  Monday 11/14, Thursday 11/17 & Friday 11/18 2:30-4:30

Boys will be in the gym Tuesday 11/15, Wednesday 11/16 & Monday 11/21 2:30-4:30.  

A schedule for after Thanksgiving break will be posted and given out at practice.

Sign up deadline: Thursday November 11th.  All student athletes must sign up on line at  here on the form below AND submit PAPER permission forms to the reception office no later than November 11th.    Be sure to bring a water bottle, proper footwear, practice clothing, and any missing forms to the first practice.     *Kennett Middle School has an opening for a boys’ basketball coach.  Apply online at www.sau9.org under Careers.

 Nordic Ski Team (Cross-Country):  

Dry-land training for Nordic raining will start the week of 11/28 on Tuesday and Thursday (11/29 & 12/10) and the following Tuesday and Thursday (12/6 & 12/8). A schedule will be posted as we get closer. Skiers will meet in the cafeteria and should dress for indoor and outdoor practices.    Skiers signing up can rent equipment for the season, for both traditional and skate skiing. A great place to rent is Jackson Ski Touring or can be purchased at the annual ESSC ski sale at the North Conway Community center in November. More info below. Coach Pilarcik will be sending out group emails once sign-ups take place, with lots of little details etc. for the season.  Sign up deadline: Tuesday,11/22

 Alpine Ski Team (Downhill): 

Dry-land training for Alpine will begin in December and take place 12/6, 12/8, 12/13, 12/15 & 12/22 after school 2:30-4:30.  Please bring indoor and outdoor practice clothes and be prepared for all kinds of weather and conditions. Skiers will need equipment for both GS and Slalom and can purchased at the annual ESSC ski sale at the North Conway Community center in November. More info below. Coach Haynes will be sending out info via GoKMS.com as the season approaches. Sign up deadline: Tuesday, 11/22

 ImPact Testing, Permission forms & Physicals: Please sign up by adding the athletes name and contact info to the list at www.GoKMS.com and submit paper permission forms to the KMS reception office no later the dates listed for each sport.  Printable permission forms are available online at www.goKMS.com under “Files & Links” or can be picked up at Reception Office. ImPACT testing for untested athletes can be done remotely online or contact KMS Athletic Coordinator, Gredel Shaw for assistance.  *If you have been successfully ImPACT tested for a previous season or last school year, you are all set – you do not need to re-take the ImPACT test.  A current and up-to-date physical must be on file with the nurse’s office.  If a physical expires mid-season, a child will not be able to participate until proof of a new physical is on file with school.  

Eastern Slope Ski Club:  Attention Skiers - The 52nd Annual Eastern Slope Ski Club Ski Sale is set for Nov. 11th & 12th. The Eastern Slope Ski Club (ESSC) will be hosting its 52nd annual gear sale at the North Conway Community Center on Friday, November 11th (2pm-7pm) with member only entry from 2 – 3 pm and Saturday, November 12th (9am-12pm). Stop by to get outfitted for the upcoming season, trade your outgrown stuff toward what you need.  You will find clean and ‘modern’ Alpine, Cross Country and Snowboard gear at great prices.
