The project "Local Youth Peace Camp" is a follow-up of the "Youth Peace Week 2021", is implemented by NGO “Local Peace” based in Leposavić/Leposaviq, and is co-funded by the Council of Europe and “UNITED Youth Task Force”.
The main function of the Local Peace Camps is to allow young people from conflict-stricken regions to meet, learn and live together to engage in dialogue and cooperation activities.
OBJECTIVES:
•
to explore concepts of peace, peacebuilding, culture of peace, violence and conflict;
•
to create opportunities for participants to experience freedom of movement in Kosovo;
•
To create contact between segregated ethnic communities in Kosovo, with special focus on Serbian and Albanian communities;
•
to explore peacebuilding at the level of local community (with focus on bottom-up approach);
•
to explore the role of the Council of Europe in peace-building process, as well as its activities and approach;
•
to make participants aware that they can be active actors in peacebuilding processes in Kosovo and to empower them to play an active role in that field; - to map the consequences of conflict in everyday life of young people living in Kosovo;
•
to equip participants in the competences necessary in peacebuilding processes (such as non-violent communication, active listening, reconciliation, empathy); - to explore good practices in peacebuilding activities run by young people which could be used as a source of inspiration in Kosovo;
•
to plan the follow-up activities at the local or international level in the field of grass-roots peacebuilding.
Dates: 01-05 December 2021 (with arrival on 30th of November and departure on 6th December)
Venue: Leposavić/Leposaviq (exact place to be confirmed)
Accommodation, meals and travel costs are fully covered.
Transportation from Mitrovica to Leposavić/Leposaviq will be arranged by the organizers.
