Stair Climber in Tenement Houses

Vision: To enable the users to enjoy a barrier-free life and integrate into the community again by helping them move up and down stairs safely within tenement buildings so that they can go outdoor for fresh air, shopping, meeting friends and relatives.

Q12. To suit the narrow stairway, a Strut Type stair machine is used. The user should be able to move from their wheelchairs to the stair climber machine by themselves or with the assistance of their family members.

The user should use their own wheelchair after arriving ground floor. We apologize for our limited resource.

Q14. The whole services is free of charge even there is last minute cancellation due to any illness on the action day.

The application for each District begins two months before the action day of that District.For example: For Sham Shui Po District, the action day starts in "late May", the application will commence in "late March", and the application period will last for three weeks.

(except 21-25 Jan 2023 [i.e. the eve and the first four days of Lunar New Year )

Since the services are operated in order of streets within the district, the exact schedule of the services provided will be decided by us upon receiving the applications. Please accept our apologies for limited resources.

Date of Announcement of Results : on or before 25 December 2022 via whatsapp to the applicant.

Q20. For Kowloon City cases, please submit the video before 15 December 2022. To control the size of the video, each video clip should take condition of one floor only with clear description on the floor number, and send the videos via whatsapp to our volunteer in charge (tel 6387 3540)

Q21. To facilitate our operation, users should be ready to offer an area of a chair size for storage and for parking the stair climber overnight and to allow necessary power recharge in their premises.

Q22. The users should be able to move from their wheelchairs to the stair climber machine by themselves or with the assistance of their family members/accompanying persons.
