Please describe the longevity of this project and whether you plan additional phases beyond the first issue in which the project appears. We are open to projects that are published entirely within a single issue or that develop across multiple issues.

Please describe how this project will make use of Lateral’s digital publication platform (e.g., through use of images, audio, video, etc.). Please note any special technical requirements and discuss how this content will be made accessible to users with disabilities. We are open to primarily text-based projects, but encourage multimedia components where feasible and enriching.

Outreach and inclusion

Will there be invited contributions only, or do you plan an open call? If a call, please describe plans for soliciting content for this project (beyond Lateral’s distribution channels, which include our website, social media, and subscriber list). How will you actively invite and facilitate contributions from structurally-marginalized scholars and from junior scholars, independent scholars, non-academic authors (such as community members, activists, and artists), as appropriate to your project?
