Editor information *
Please provide the name, affiliation, and email address of each person who would act as guest editor for this project, one per line.
Title of project *
Short description *
Max. 100 words
Sample content *
Please describe the topical content you imagine for this project and its connection to cultural studies and Lateral. You may also note potential contributors you have contacted or would contact for submissions. If the project is affiliated with a conference, association, or other entity, please describe that relationship here.
Format *
What is the approximate number of works and their length to be published in the first journal issue in which the project would appear?
Frequency and sustainability *
Please describe the longevity of this project and whether you plan additional phases beyond the first issue in which the project appears. We are open to projects that are published entirely within a single issue or that develop across multiple issues.
Media and accessibility
Please describe how this project will make use of Lateral’s digital publication platform (e.g., through use of images, audio, video, etc.). Please note any special technical requirements and discuss how this content will be made accessible to users with disabilities. We are open to primarily text-based projects, but encourage multimedia components where feasible and enriching.
Outreach and inclusion
Will there be invited contributions only, or do you plan an open call? If a call, please describe plans for soliciting content for this project (beyond Lateral’s distribution channels, which include our website, social media, and subscriber list). How will you actively invite and facilitate contributions from structurally-marginalized scholars and from junior scholars, independent scholars, non-academic authors (such as community members, activists, and artists), as appropriate to your project?
Funding and support
Is this project funded or supported by your institution or any outside sources? Funding is not required for approval.
